The year 2013 has been all about dry shampoos with new launches every now and then and the latest entrant is the L’oreal Professionnel Techni Art Fresh Dust Dry Shampoo.

If you are unaware what a Dry Shampoo is, then for starters, dry shampoo is a quick, water-free way to freshen your hair when you don't have the time to wash your hair. You can wait for them to air dry or blow-dry them and finally style them.

L’oreal has a wide range of hair styling products and they have not disappointed us yet. This dry shampoo refreshes and revives hair in an instant. It’s a quick fix between washes.
But remember, this does not substitute your usual hair wash. So don’t skip your hair wash and use the dry shampoo every other day. Dry shampoos can be used to delay your regular wash by just a day or two.

Priced at Rs. 950/- and available only at L’oreal Professionnel Salons. This is definitely on my want list and can’t wait to try it.

It is that time of the year and you can get away with sparkles, glitter and all things snazzy and jazzy… Yes it’s December; Christmas, New Year and party time!! And glitter and sparkles make everything better.
I am personally not a huge fan of glitter when it comes to nail polish only because they are really hard to get off. But, with the festive season I really love painting my nails in all the sparkly and glittery fanfare. Here’s my version of easy and simple festive nails with Maybelline Colour Show & L’oreal Color Riche Le Vernis.

I loved the L’oreal Color Riche Le Vernis Limited edition glitter in the colour Copper Cuff when I first saw it and then after application it looked all sparkly and pretty, the problem came when it was time to remove the nail polish and it indeed was a harrowing task. Nevertheless it is a fabulous nail polish and perfect for the festive season.
Copper Cuff as the name suggests is a copper colour and has tiny gold & copper glitter particles as well as quite large hexagonal glitter particles. It’s these hexagonal glitter particles which are a bit stubborn to remove. You can apply the L’oreal Color Riche in Copper Cuff as one coat for a sheer look or build it up as much as you want for a full glitter sparkly effect.

For this festive look I started off by applying the Maybelline Colorshow in the colour Keep-up-the-Flame which is a bright tomato red as the base and then topped it with a sparkly coat of L’oreal Color Riche in Copper Cuff which is a coppery glitter sheer polish. Maybelline Colorshow Keep-up-the-Flame has a beautiful consistency it applies like a dream and, with two coats you have pretty plump looking tomato red nails. I did not apply a top coat but you can finish it off with Maybelline Colorshow Crystal Clear a clear top coat.

Moving on with the glitter brigade here’s yet another simple version if you don’t like sparkle and glitter on all your nails.
Products used are; Maybelline Colorshow Crazy Berry and L’oreal Color Riche Riviere Amethyst.

I have started by applying Maybelline Colorshow in Crazy berry which is a deep purple, beery-ish colour as a base and then on the ring finger applied two coats of L’oreal Color Riche Riviere Amethyst which is a black & copper glittery shade. This does not have heavy glitter particles like copper cuff and is much easier to remove. Finish it off by applying the Crystal clear top coat and you have glittery glossy nails. This is a very winter-y shade and the glitter just adds a hint of festivity without overdoing it.

Maybelline Colorshow nail polishes do not disappoint. They are beautifully formulated, give a much defined look to your nails and also don’t easily chip off. They have a variety of colours to choose from to help you make your own versions of festive nails and funky creative nail art.
So, what’s your version of festive nails?
