We visited the Kala Ghoda Art Festival on the very first day 6th Feb and reaching early around 11.15 a.m has its benefits because; lesser crowds mean better art installation photography. Before we move forward with the post here is what you need to know about the festival.

About KGA Festival

The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is a nine day long annual festival, commencing always on the first Saturday of February and closing always on the second Sunday in February. It is a community celebration of arts within one of the most beautiful and historic precincts of Mumbai, The Kala Ghoda Art District of South Mumbai, India.

The festival this year will open doors from Saturday 6th February to Wednesday 17th February 2016 (Extended by three days at Cross Maidan for Make in India Festival).

The Kala Ghoda Art Festival was initiated by the Kala Ghoda Association, a not-for-profit enterprise in 1999 with the objective of offering a space where art can come alive in all its interpretations. This festival is open for all and is free of charge. Funds raised from the festival go towards the restoration and upkeep of the area. Several heritage buildings and institutions in the area have benefited from this.
