3 FAVOURITE LIPGRADATION LIPSTICKS FROM MAYBELLINE

If you are an avid matte lipstick lover like me then you need to give Maybelline’s Lipgradation a serious try because Maybelline has indeed nailed it this time with their matte formula.

I am completely bowled by the pigmentation and the staying power of these babies; they last the whole day on the lips meals included; with touch ups rarely required… I mean just wow. The formula is powdery velvet, soft and easy to apply and one swipe gives you amazing colour payoff. The gradation gimmick part is a sponge bit at the bottom; it is great when you don’t want an extreme bold matte look instead you can tone down like a lip stain with the help of this sponge. The shade tends to fade out naturally as the day progresses but only if you haven’t built it up or have just used the gradation technique. I normally don’t use the gradation technique that much because I love me a bold matte lip.

Shade wise none of these lack in the pigmentation, staying power & colour payoff department; be it a lighter shade or a bold shade. Fuschia1, Mauve1 & Red2 are my favourites as these are the kind of shades that I would use and reach out to daily and actually wear. Fuschia1 is a bright pink with a hint of blue undertones; perfect to pop on the lips for summer. When it comes to the shade Mauve1 just be warned that it is in no way mauve but rather a brown lipstick yup! Brown; kind of misleading packaging and name but hey if you love brown shades it’s not bad. This shade is a natural light nude(y) brown perfect for everyday wear, work wear or even on days when you want your lips to look natural and effortless. Red1 is a very bold red and slightly reminds me of Mac Ruby Woo; but Red1 is much softer and less drying on the lips. It does tend to leave a stain on the lips especially if you have been wearing this shade the whole day. Irrespective of using a waterproof makeup remover the stain stays.

These Lipgradation lipsticks are matte (obviously) but they are not extremely drying at least in my opinion because I love matte lipsticks; but if you are someone who likes a creamy matte lipstick then you may not appreciate these. Packaging of these is good and colour identification is also easy as the pencil is in the same shade. Its twist up mechanism makes it easy and fuss free; no sharpening required. It’s travel friendly too. Priced at INR 500/- these are a complete steal and a matte lipstick lover’s dream.
