We all have those days when we are too tired (or lazy) to even take our makeup off after a long day at work. Can’t wait to hit the bed right? I’ve been there done that. My skincare usually just meant cleansing my face before bed! It’s been a while and as you enter your 30's you start to see your skin change. I was never into exfoliating thinking that it’s going to dry up my skin and that it might cause acne. Well it turns out that exfoliating is actually one of the key steps to make your skincare work. Here I’m giving you three really good reasons to exfoliate your skin NOW!

Makes your skin Fresh & Smooth:
When old skin cells start to layer up on the surface of the skin, it makes your skin look dull, dry and rough. Exfoliating eliminates the old and dead skin cells hence making your skin feel fresher and smoother.

Evens out Skin tone:
As exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells, it also clears the extra dirt, dust and even makeup on your skin. This in turn evens out your skin tone over a period of time. Even though that glow is temporary, your skin will start to look dewy and glowy over a period of time. Don’t expect it to rid all your spots and pigmentation overnight. It will take time and with consistent use, you will notice a difference in your skin.

Skincare products work better:
If you have ever felt that a certain skincare product did not work for you even after consistent use, you probably did not exfoliate that often. Since a layer of dead skin cells, dirt and pollution is cleared from your skin, all your moisturisers, serums and toners work way better than they did before.

Even if exfoliating is great for your skin, stick to exfoliating just once or twice a week. Physical exfoliators like face scrubs can be harsh and are not recommended for everyday use. If you have sensitive skin then you can use a gentle exfoliator instead of a deep exfoliator.

Do let me know in the comments below if you found this post helpful and that you will take that extra step to improve your skincare routine.

The name is mouthful isn’t it? And so is the ingredient list, we will come to that a little later. If you are someone like me who suffers from acne, inflammation and pesky breakouts this product is a total savior. I suffer from the cystic type of acne and they are one of the worst – leave unflattering dark spots and sometimes scars if you unceremoniously pop them. I confess, I am paranoid when it comes to products concerning acne and trying anything new; and believe me I’ve made loads of visits to the dermatologist albeit unsuccessful. So, by taking matters into my own hands and after careful consideration, research I purchased my very first product from KAMA Ayurveda. Here are my thoughts…

What is Nimrah Anti Acne Face Pack all about?
  • This 40g tin comes packed with an effective mixture of Vetiver, Ashwagandha, Red Sandalwood, Indian Sarsaparilla, Coriander, Lothar and liquorice. This Anti Acne face pack is an authentic ayurvedic product.
  • It’s free from artificial preservatives, colourants, fragrances and petrochemicals.
  • Rest assured it is 100% natural.

What does it do?
  • It treats acne, pimples, reduces dark spots and decreases inflammation.
  • Helps prevent hyperpigmentation and is a great treatment for blackheads.
  • Draws out excess oil from pores and helps in removal of dead skin.
  • On spot application (of acne) I noticed a significant decrease in inflammation of acne and the surrounding areas and, lightly dried up the acne which reduced its overall intensity.

How to apply?
  • This pack comes with a dainty wooden spatula – very handy.
  •  It is in powder form and you need to make a paste of the same, so it gets applied easily on the face.
  • You can use water, buttermilk or even rosewater to form a paste.
  • Apply this paste on the affected and surrounding area. I have also applied it as a full-face mask sometimes but personally prefer spot application as it works well.
  • Keep this mask on for 10 to 15 minutes; it dries up quickly.

Remove this pack after its dried completely by rinsing with Luke warm water. Pat your face dry. Slight tingling will occur but nothing to worry about.
I am loving this face pack and I religiously reach out to it whenever I feel a pesky pimple or acne popping.

Nimrah Anti acne face pack stays true to its word and helps control acne, reduce inflammation and treat dark spots. Do give this product a try if you are in the same acne-pimple boat as I am and, if you have used this product do let me know your thoughts about it, would love to hear them.

Happy New Year to each and everyone of you. May this new year bring you prosperity, love and happiness.

The year 2017 was a year where a lot of changes happened on a personal front for both of us. I moved to a new city – Dubai and have been adjusting to a new life and, my sister finally started a venture that she’s been planning to for a while as in years. We also have not shown love to our blog and updates have been sporadic or none in this past year well, things are going to change in 2018.

About my sisters’ venture, she has finally started her own etsy shop called Paper and Pixels co. She is an amazingly talented self-taught graphic designer who has an eye for detail and is obsessed with Scandinavian art. Would appreciate it if you could check out her shop and show her some love. Another aspect that we plan on introducing on the blog is our love for bullet journal. We started maintaining our first bullet journal in 2017 and have absolutely loved how easy it has made things for us at the same time having fun with it.

If you all have any suggestions and ideas on what kind of content you would like to see on our blog, please do share it with us.

Here’s to new beginnings.
