We all have those days when we are too tired (or lazy) to even take our makeup off after a long day at work. Can’t wait to hit the bed right? I’ve been there done that. My skincare usually just meant cleansing my face before bed! It’s been a while and as you enter your 30's you start to see your skin change. I was never into exfoliating thinking that it’s going to dry up my skin and that it might cause acne. Well it turns out that exfoliating is actually one of the key steps to make your skincare work. Here I’m giving you three really good reasons to exfoliate your skin NOW!

Makes your skin Fresh & Smooth:
When old skin cells start to layer up on the surface of the skin, it makes your skin look dull, dry and rough. Exfoliating eliminates the old and dead skin cells hence making your skin feel fresher and smoother.

Evens out Skin tone:
As exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells, it also clears the extra dirt, dust and even makeup on your skin. This in turn evens out your skin tone over a period of time. Even though that glow is temporary, your skin will start to look dewy and glowy over a period of time. Don’t expect it to rid all your spots and pigmentation overnight. It will take time and with consistent use, you will notice a difference in your skin.

Skincare products work better:
If you have ever felt that a certain skincare product did not work for you even after consistent use, you probably did not exfoliate that often. Since a layer of dead skin cells, dirt and pollution is cleared from your skin, all your moisturisers, serums and toners work way better than they did before.

Even if exfoliating is great for your skin, stick to exfoliating just once or twice a week. Physical exfoliators like face scrubs can be harsh and are not recommended for everyday use. If you have sensitive skin then you can use a gentle exfoliator instead of a deep exfoliator.
